GPRG Environmental Solutions Program is thrilled to share the release of our first paper: Sustainable Approaches to the European Housing Crisis

We all want to return to a comfortable home at the end of the day, be that a two-story house on the outskirts of a quiet small town in Limburg or a cozy apartment with a clear view to the bustling streets of downtown Stockholm. Yet, realities such as these are far from accessible to a large number of Europeans due to the failure of their governments to respond adequately to the skyrocketing housing demand. At the same time, resource overuse and emission creation in the construction sector contribute remarkably to environmental degradation. Avenues for providing housing in a significantly more sustainable manner while positively affecting housing creation rates do however exist, lying in wait to be sufficiently employed by European policymakers.
