GPRG’s International Affairs Program comprises a range of cross-cutting issues, including international, regional, space and maritime security, diplomacy, global health, nation-building, and regional stability. The program also analyzes the policies and the general efficacy of international organizations such as the UN, NATO, EU, and ASEAN.

Neutrality is a term that is in many cases open to interpretation, particularly when the finer details of what exactly constitutes neutrality are taken into consideration. In this project, we seek to effectively conceptualize the famed Swedish neutrality. Past conflicts from elsewhere in the world are then analyzed and connected to the Swedish context to give insight into the advantages and disadvantages of Sweden’s decision to join NATO. An assessment is then made for how Sweden should position itself in the international area within the next five years.
